Kadam was built from a simple, urgent question: why is there no easy, affordable way to check if a drink has been spiked in India? What began as a research question became a company, a product, and a mission.
"We didn't start Kadam as a business. We started it because we looked around and saw a problem that was real, dangerous, and being ignored — and decided to do something about it."
The idea for Kadam was born at the end of 2022 from a simple question: why is there no easy, affordable way to check if a drink has been spiked in India? Drink spiking incidents were — and continue to be — under-reported, under-addressed, and deeply underestimated in their frequency and impact.
The early days were challenging. The first detection principle tested gave inaccurate results. Rather than giving up, the team pivoted — shifted to a new principle, rebuilt the proof of concept, and validated it in 2023. The strip, reader, and app system emerged from this relentless iteration. The company was subsequently incubated at AIC-LMCP.
Kadam went on to receive backing from SSIP, MOE's Yukti Grant, Ihub-Srujan, the MSME Hackathon, and recognition from GIAN-ZYDUS and the WAAH-Vikram Sarabhai Community Science Centre. Field trials for the MVP were conducted in 2025–26. The product is now being scaled — and the vision has expanded into home diagnostics for every Indian family.
From Idea to Proof of Concept
First detection principle tested and pivoted. Rebuilt the POC using a competitive antigen-antibody mechanism that gave accurate, reliable results.
Company Registered & Incubated
Kadam Wellness LLP officially registered on 14 August 2023. Incubated at AIC-LMCP, Ahmedabad — one of India's leading pharmacy incubators.
7 Grants & Awards Won
Nationally recognised across SSIP, GIAN-ZYDUS, Ihub-Srujan, MSME Hackathon, MOE Yukti Grant, WAAH Science Centre, and Pharma Anveshan.
Commercial Launch & Scale
